Branch Members from Ballyholme, Ballymore (Tandragee) Carnmoney, Cregagh, Eglantine, Holywood and Malone left Belfast by train for Derry.

On arrival in Derry the party of 38 members and wives were met by a Reddins coach which brought us around the city to Christ Church.

The parish is a group of four churches three in Derry city and its suburbs and the fourth in Muff in Co Donegal.

We had decided to visit Christ Church as the previous autumn vandals had broke in and had damaged the organ. All has now been beautifully restored.

On arrival we were met by the Revd Katie McAteer who was shortly joined by the Archdeacon of Derry, the Venerable Robert Miller, Rector of the Group of parishes.

The Rector assisted by the Revd McAteer conducted a shorter form of Holy Communion as provided in the prayer book for Ministry to the Sick.

Following the Service we enjoyed a cup of tea or coffee with a scone.

Our coach was then waiting to bring us up the Innishowen peninsula to Doagh Famine village. We first had soup and sandwiches in the restaurant before making our way across to the village.

After an interesting guided tour of the village our coach brought us back to Derry to Brown's restaurant on Bond's Hill where we had an excellent meal before walking across to the train station to await our return train to Belfast.

Everyone enjoyed their day out and the weather had been dry but overcast with sunny intervals.
